PPCT specializes in developing use of force training that meets the multiple needs of administrators, trainers and practitioners. PPCT’s methodology of conducting documented tactical, legal and medical research has made it a leader in its field and is the primary reason why the training is recognized to be effective in the field and defensible in the courtroom. This course is designed to teach defensive tactics students to use the PPCT Defensive Tactics System. Students will learn how to take immediate control of a subject and apply other defensive tactics techniques, such as handcuffing and weapon retention. Training the armed church security team to respond to this dynamic and rapidly changing critical event is a very advanced skill set. Mental preparation and knowing in advance that you will be “Playing catchup” while attempting to successfully and accurately deploy a firearm are all dynamics that should be considered and trained for in advance. Training will be based on a “When-Then” philosophy. As in law Enforcement training, students will start to create a mental card catalog of “If this happens, then I will do this.” While a multiple person response is preferred for this type of critical incident, the nature and timing of this type of problem may require a SINGLE team member or PAIR of team members to respond quickly and effectively. Students will engage in live scenario based training. Acquiring the training and skills necessary to respond rapidly and effectively in order to locate, isolate and/or neutralize the threat cannot be overemphasized.
